Terry Furchgott has been a fine artist in Seattle for the last several decades, painting amazing portraits, still-lifes and murals along the way. In the swinging ’60s, Furchgott moved to London and began designing psychedelic concert posters, and in the ’80s she found a home in the Pacific Northwest. Since then, she has showcased her work through the Lisa Harris Gallery as well as in public venues like the post office and at the Seattle Center; she also continues to work as a coveted teacher at several Seattle institutions. Over the years, her style has stayed consistent while exploring diverse subject matter, inspiration and themes, including Persian miniatures, French Expressionists, and modern urban life. Oh, and she may have also inspired me along the way, being my mom and all! At long last, she has an online presence; check out the samples below from her new website.
