Last week Nike held the first World Basketball Festival at Radio City Music Hall. Team USA played onstage, and so did a surprise performer - none other than Jay-Z himself. NYC Renaissance lady Vashtie snuck a camera in and put together a nice little recap for those of us who missed it. Play, watch, repeat.

Best Dressed: H.H. Sheikha Mozah

by chloe on August 15, 2010

I hate uniforms. Any time I need to dress appropriately for work  - whether in an office or on the soccer field - I find it a challenge. There’s something about it that I find . . . stifling. But I’ve got to give it to Her Highness Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned. The second wife of Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, as well as an innovative and demanding social activist for the small Middle Eastern country, Sheikha Mozah always manages to look chic and sexy even with only her face and neck peeking out from one of her many monochromatic Muslim outfits. Usually in black and white neutral dresses and head wraps, the regal beauty occasionally shows up in fuschia or lime green ensembles. Either way, she is always perfectly poised, and no one has ever made such a religious uniform look so good. bdl-mozah-0909-ps03In 2009, she was voted one of the world’s 49 best-dressed by Vanity Fair
